Well an attempt was made but between wheel bearing failure followed by change front wheel for spare and all seemed good but then increasingly clacking chain twas but a short lived attempt ...... 15 lanes ..... not an auspicious day for me! Apologies Ray ....

Chain changed for new n the occasional clank seems to be gone on the very short test ride I gave it. I now think the clank was the two next to one another joining links, in the old chain, which had no o rings and were worn....so it was probably close to giving up the ghost....

I know I need a chain tool, not for splitting, as I simply filed down the rivets but for reassembling the new oring with the split link. I had to do this with a g cramp n a couple of bits of ally what a pain in the butt that was .....
